Child Assessment Specialty Clinic

Director: Bonnie Klein-Tasman, PhD (she/her/hers)

Provides comprehensive psychoeducational diagnostic and/or neuropsychological assessments (as appropriate) for children ages 8 through 16 addressing the following referral questions:

  • Learning problems or learning disabilities
  • Attention problems (including Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder)
  • Intellectual disability

Assessments conducted by graduate students in our Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program, under the supervision of a Licensed Psychologist. All aspects of the assessment are videorecorded for supervision purposes. The cost for the assessment is on a sliding fee scale depending on family income with a maximum fee of $75/hour. Most assessments take between 10 and 12 hours including initial interview and feedback session to review the results. Please call Marguerite Keith (414-229-5521) or email with the age of your child and the main reason you are seeking an assessment. Dr. Klein-Tasman will then reach out for a discussion of the fit of your needs with the offerings of the clinic. Please note that we are often running a significant wait list; at such times, it may be a few weeks before Dr. Klein-Tasman reaches out to you for discussion.

We are currently scheduling child assessment appointments using a hybrid approach due to COVID-19. Some procedures will take place via telehealth, and others will take place face to face at the UWM Psychology Clinic with COVID-19 precautions and procedures.
