About this Event

The 2020 elections will involve early voting and voting by mail at levels not seen before in the US. But this expansion comes with challenges, both logistical and political.

Join the John W. Kluge Center for a virtual panel, hosted by Director John Haskell, featuring experts on voting systems and politics discussing the basics and history of voting by mail as well as its recent politicization and likely future.

Panelists:

Andrea Matwyshyn is Associate Dean of Innovation and Professor at Penn State Law (University Park), Professor at SEDTAPP, Penn State Engineering, and Founding Director of the Penn State Policy Innovation Lab Of Tomorrow (PILOT). She is also a Digital Studies Fellow at the Kluge Center.

Seth Masket is Professor of Political Science and Director of the Center on American Politics at the University of Denver. Masket contributes regularly to FiveThirtyEight and the Mischiefs of Faction blog. He is a former Kluge Chair in American Law and Governance. He is the author of Learning from Loss: The Democrats 2016-2020, coming out this month from Cambridge University Press.
