For Faculty and Staff

The UWM Honors College encourages all faculty and staff to examine how systemic racism shapes their behaviors, mindsets, and practices in order to become more effective advocates for antiracism. We invite all faculty in the UWM community and our MPS partner schools to join us in this endeavor.

Please attend one of our upcoming events:

The Honors Teaching Retreat

January 15, 10:00-12:00 CT on Zoom

This event featured a panel that included Dean Margaret Noodin (Link to bio), Associate Vice-Chancellor Chia Vang (Link to bio), and Dr. Wilkistar Otieno (Link to bio).

The panelists discussed the importance of embracing antiracist teaching practices and offered concrete recommendations that faculty can utilize in their classrooms. They also engaged with audience members to examine the roles that faculty and staff can play in dismantling systemic racism at UWM.

A recording of this event is available to members of the UWM community here.
