Yinan Wang 王一男 is a filmmaker born and raised in Beijing. His recent work, 甜腻腻 Thick & Sweet, reconstructs both personal and collective memories of a local Chinese restaurant through cutouts, reenactments, found footage, and fragments of earlier films, quietly probing how images form—and deform—cultural identity. Wang received his BFA from UWM and is a recipient of the 2026 Mary L. Nohl Fund Fellowships for Individual Artists. |

Intimate scenes require more than choreography—they require trust, communication, consent, and thoughtful collaboration. This workshop introduces students to the principles of intimacy coordination and explores how directors and filmmakers can create a safe, respectful environment when working with actors on intimate material. Students will learn practical approaches for communicating boundaries, preparing scenes, and supporting actors throughout the filmmaking process. |

Micah Alhadeff is a digital artist, curator, and educator whose work explores glitch aesthetics, virtual embodiment, and speculative transformation. Alhadeff’s work has been exhibited at Sotheby's in New York City, The Royal Institute in London, NFT.NYC, NFT Show Europe in Valencia, Spain, Tech Contemporary in Copenhagen, and across 1000 billboards in Belgium through Art Crush Gallery. Alhadeff is as Assistant Professor of Kinetic Imaging at Western Michigan University where he teaches experimental approaches to game engines, worldbuilding, and emerging technologies in digital art. |

The UWM Symphony Orchestra and Choirs join forces for an evening of powerful choral-orchestral masterworks. In recognition of the 250th anniversary of the United States, the program features American works that reflect on the nation’s history and ideals, including Florence Price’s Abraham Lincoln Walks at Midnight and Aaron Copland’s iconic Fanfare for the Common Man. The program also features Mozart’s radiant Coronation Mass, bringing together orchestra, chorus, and soloists in one of his most celebrated sacred works. |

This exhibition offers a unique opportunity to explore the vibrant intersections of creativity and technology, connecting the Milwaukee community with the next frontier of artistic expression.
In this tragi-comic play, a grotesquely wealthy person returns to their hometown which has suffered an economic downturn. In exchange for a reversal of their plight, she demands a high price – one that shakes the very bedrock of the society. This play premiered in New York 70 years ago, directed by Peter Brook and starred Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne.

Rachel David is a North Carolina-based blacksmith, sculptor, designer, and maker. Her metalwork practice is holistic; encompassing art, furniture, architectural elements, activism, collaborations, and gardening. Using the physical and technically demanding processes of forging, forming, and machining steel, Rachel addresses broader issues of “body” and “landscape” through the lens of social and environmental justice. David's work is in the collections of the Smithsonian Renwick Gallery, the City of New Orleans, the City of Asheville, the Simone Benetton Foundation, and numerous private collections. |

In addition, students interact with UWM performance staff and experience performances by UWM ensembles.
The High School Honors Band & String Orchestra Festival provides the region’s most motivated and accomplished high school band and orchestra students an opportunity to work with each other and with regionally and nationally recognized conductors. Students also interact with UWM performance faculty and experience performances by UWM ensembles. This year, the High School Honors Band will be conducted by guest conductor Dr. Brett Bawcum of the University of Georgia, and the High School Honors String Orchestra will be conducted by Dr. Jun Kim, Director of Orchestral Activities at UWM.
