Curlew River by Benjamin Britten
Director: Dr. Aaron Agulay
Music Direction: Dr. Aaron Agulay, Joseph Hauer and Sarah Brumm
Lost in despair, the haunting cries of a Madwoman echo desperate pleas for her stolen child. Startled by her harrowing tale, the Traveller, the Abbot, and the pilgrims with determined persuasion, implore the Ferryman to grant passage to this tortured soul aboard his boat. Embarking on a journey across the mystical waters of the Curlew River, this voyage will be more than a mere crossing; it will be a transformative odyssey, revealing truths hidden in the depths of sorrow and redemption.
Suor Angelica by Giacomo Puccini
Director: James Zager
Music Direction: Dr. Aaron Agulay, Joseph Hauer and Sarah Brumm
Sister Angelica’s days at the convent have been filled with silent penance, her heart aching for the son she was forced to relinquish seven years prior. Each morning, she awakens with the weight of her secret burden, finding solace only in her prayers and the quiet routines of convent life. But when her aunt, the very embodiment of her past and pain, arrives unexpectedly, Angelica’s fragile world threatens to shatter. With trembling hands and a heart heavy with dread, she faces a reckoning she never dared imagine, one that may unearth the buried truths of her past and test the limits of her faith.
