Nikos Vakalis is a qualified restorer-conservator (Degree on conservation of paintings from the Istituto Centrale per il Restauro in Rome in 1979).
He has had 35 years experience in planning and co-ordination of restoration projects in Italy and other countries such as the USA, Africa and Asia.
He has been working for the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other public and private Italian organizations, as well as with international institutions including Unesco, Iccrom and the World Monuments Fund.
His areas of activity are stone artifacts, easel paintings, wall paintings and polychrome wooden sculptures.
