Elevating the Wood Engraved Landscape: The Work of Elbridge Kingsley

October 24, 2013 - November 14, 2013

Free

A pioneer of the “original” wood engraving, Elbridge Kingsley (1842-1918) sketched directly from nature, creating breathtaking land-scapes for collectors. His work appeared in leading publications of the nineteenth century including Scribner’s Monthly and Century Magazine. This exhibit demonstrates the depth of Kingsley’s talent with examples of both his published commissions and original proofs.

Gallery talk by Elizabeth Powell-Siercks.
