Cheryl Andres began her tenure with UWM in September 2002 as Office Manager for the Office of Legal Affairs and joined the Division of Academic Affairs in November 2008. Currently, she manages the sabbatical program, tenure/promotion and indefinite status processes, and emeritus and distinguished designations. Cheryl provides program support to the Academic Program and Curriculum Committee and works closely with the Secretary of the University’s Office on governance issues. She is involved with professional licensure disclosure, maintaining the website, and providing guidance on compliance issues. Cheryl also served on the Chancellor's Ombuds Council, the Classified Staff Senate, and the Academic Staff Senate.

Cheryl’s background is quite diverse, including 30 years of progressively more responsible administrative experience. In addition to her organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills, Cheryl gained international experience when she taught English as a foreign language at Erciyes Universitesi in Kayseri, Turkey.

Cheryl graduated, summa cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay with a degree in English and Women’s Studies.
