“Arabic Literature in Translation,” with Caroline Seymour-Jorn and Quassy Al-Attabi
Associate Professor of Arabic literature Caroline Seymour-Jorn of UWM and Qussay Al-Attabi, assistant professor of Arabic at Kenyon College will be discussing the politics and the process of translation as well as the current state of Arabic literature in translation.
Professor Seymour-Jorn’s current research focuses on Egyptian culture and arts and youth in the Middle East. She has also translated the fiction of several prominent Egyptian writers. Professor Al-Attabi is currently working on translations of Iraqi poetry for an anthology.
