In-Room Internet Access
University Housing offers wireless internet in all rooms/suites/apartments provided (and supported) by Apogee. Individual, private wireless routers are prohibited in University Housing. Residents will also have the option to connect via one wired data jack in their room. Ethernet cords are not provided; however, they can be purchased at any of the building Service Desks. To split the ethernet (wired) connection, roommates will need to purchase a DUMB switch.
How To Connect AFTER Move-In
(DO NOT attempt connection PRIOR TO MOVE-IN)
- CONNECT VIA A PORTAL
- From any device with a browser: Connect to MyResnet Start Here, which will take you to https://uwm.apogee.us
- CREATE YOUR ACCOUNT
- Sign in using your UWM credentials and create an account.
- Once account has been created, sign back in and click on “show wi-fi password” under Add Devices tab. You can keep the password shown or change your wi-fi password here to something unique.
- You will use your unique Wi-Fi password to connect your devices to the network.
- CONNECT TO NETWORK
- Navigate to the wireless settings on each device.
- Connect to MyResNet-5G (Always use 5G; however, you can connect using MyResNet-2G if your device is not 5G-compatible).
- Enter your Wi-Fi password when prompted to connect.
- Enable the “auto-join” feature.
- HELPFUL TIPS
- MyResNet-5G: Connect to MyResNet-5G for the fastest WiFi connection. This should be your default setting.
- MyResnet Start Here: Choose to forget this network selection once you have created your account.

Residents have access to the computer labs and workstations in all University Housing Facilities, which are open 24 hours a day.
Courtesy computers for short-term use are also available in the lobby of most University Housing locations.
University Housing Facilities also provide access to campus printing services (fees apply). WEPA print stations can be accessed directly from your personal digital devices, as well as through community workstations. Visit UWM Technology Resources for instructions and a list of WEPA stations across campus.
All University Housing residents receive a cable television package provided by Apogee/MyResNet. Televisions must have a QAM tuner to receive the channels provided. While most newer televisions have a QAM tuner pre-installed, certain brands may not. Existing coaxial connections will work in all buildings. All residents will also be able to download the APOGEE/ResNet app, which provides device management, a TV guide listing, and DVR function. Please consult your television’s owner’s manual for more information. The channel lineup is listed below. Subscriptions subject to change without notice.
