For People & Planet

As a student-led group, For People & Planet focuses on environmental and social justice issues, especially those within the Milwaukee community. Examples include equitable access to green space, food insecurity on UWM’s campus, and waste management alternatives. For People & Planet emphasizes creating tangible change for the community it serves, no matter the size of the project. Through a combination of learning and action (river cleanups, garden volunteering, student-led discussions), For People & Planet is grounded in the “see something, do something” ideology.  We’re an enthusiastic, curious, and welcoming group of students always excited to meet new members – join us!

April 24th, 2021 –  Milwaukee Riverkeeper’s annual spring clean-up. We got a hands-on approach to environmentalism and had a lot of fun serving the city!

Ongoing Project: For People & Planet will be working with the UWM office of sustainability during the spring and summer to grow produce for the community food pantry.
