Special Lecture- Hidden Treasure: Finding Women Dealers and Collectors of Far Eastern Art in Paris, 1858-1914

Held in connection with Prof. Snow’s AH 381 course Japonisme: Japan and West in Art. Please join us for a special lecture by Elizabeth Emery Professor of World Languages and Cultures, Montclair State University. She will be giving a free public talk about her recent book Reframing Japonisme: Women and the Asian Art Market in Nineteenth-Century France, 1853-1914 (Bloomsbury Visual Arts, 2020) and her digital humanities project with the National Institute (INHA) in Paris, “Connoisseurs, Collectors and Dealers of Asian Art in France, 1700-1939”.
