Lake Michigan, Milwaukee, Waukesha. These are words we use every day and are so much a part of our identity in southeastern Wisconsin. But where do these words come from?

On this edition of UWM Today, learn about the Anishinaabe Language, used by Native Americans from the Ojibwe, Potawatomi and Odawa tribes. Guest Meg Noodin, assistant professor of English and interim director of the Electa Quinney Institute at UWM, teaches Native American languages to students at UWM. She is passionate about preserving a major part of the culture of native Americans in our region .
