discussing Against Silence: Indigenous Languages and Linguistic Justice

Agustín Panizo is a Peruvian linguist, lexicographer, language policy expert, and
professor in many universities in Peru and Bolivia. As the former Director of Indigenous Languages in Peru, he led several official initiatives to promote the indigenous languages and linguistic rights of its speakers. Panizo is also a member of the advisory board of Wikitongues, a global initiative for action on languages.
Cosponsored by the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies, the Center for International Education, the Department of Linguistics, the Electa Quinney Institute for American Indian Education, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and Alverno College. CLACS and CIE are Title VI National Resource Centers with funding from the U.S. Department of Education.
