Rachel Conrad hosts speaker, Sid Rao of the Blood Research Institute at the Blood Center of Wisconsin. Dr. Rao will present a talk entitled ‘Cohesin Mutations in Cancer’. The presentation will begin at 4:00 pm in Lapham Hall N101. Please join us for refreshments outside the lecture hall starting at 3:30 pm.
Dr. Rao is a practicing physician-scientist, with a focus on pediatric cancer. In particular, his lab focuses on how changes in gene expression mediate cancer development. In particular, his lab focuses on how mutations within the cohesin complex promote different cancers. The longterm goal of his laboratory is to translate his findings into more-effective, less-toxic therapies for children with cancer. Read more about his work here.
