The Vocal Arts Festival provides an opportunity for skilled high school singers to interact with, perform for, and join their voices with peers from around the region. Participants have the chance to learn and grow as both soloists and choral artists. 
Join us for an exhibition of selected pieces from Fibers courses taught by Peck School of the Arts faculty Jamie Bertsch and Kyoung Ae Cho. The Department of Art & Design hosts an opening reception on Friday, February 5 from 5-7 p.m.

Created especially for high school students, this matinee performance of Winterdances features world‑premiere choreography that highlights the creative process of professional artists working with their collaborators. A post‑performance Q&A invites students into conversation with the choreographers, followed by a sack lunch and two hands‑on technique workshops taught by UWM’s internationally known faculty.

We’re also thrilled to welcome select high school band students as they sit in with the Wind Ensemble for a side-by-side performance experience with UW–Milwaukee graduate and undergraduate music students. |

The UWM Percussion Area hosts World Percussion Night in the beautiful Jan Serr Studio, featuring special guest Bembe Drum and Dance alongside the UWM Steel PANthers Steel Band and other student ensembles. Audiences will love the upbeat, exciting energy of Brazilian Samba, Puerto Rican Bomba, and West African drumming in addition to traditional and arranged music for Trinidadian steel pans performed by UWM students and faculty with vibrant community ensembles.
