December 20, 2016  |  News & Events, Sad News, Timely Announcements

Dear Colleagues,

I share with you the sad news we received from Dean Brett Peters in the College of Engineering and Applied Science:

Jim Cummins, a long-time lecturer in Electrical Engineering, has passed away. Jim spent many years full-time in business and industry complementing his professional work as a part-time adjunct at CEAS. This year, he joined the College as a full-time lecturer.

Dean Peters, in a message to CEAS, said that “Jim valued education – igniting passion for exploration and discovery in his classes. He is known as a student advocate who worked hard to break down barriers and open doors for all students.”

His obituary is online. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 3 at 6 p.m. at Feerick Funeral Home in Shorewood.

Our condolences to Jim’s family and the many others whose lives he touched.

Take care,

Johannes
