Summer Courses
Get the Most Out of Your Summer
Take it easy this summer while still taking the next steps toward your degree. Whether you’re a full-time UWM student, enrolled at another university, or a recent high school graduate wanting to get a head start on college, a summer course or two is a great way to make the most of your summer.
A Summer of Possibilities
- UWM has more than 500 summer courses available online, in person or in a hybrid format.
- Some courses start in May, and classes run in three-, four-, six-, eight- and 12-week time frames, so you can find the summer session that works best for you.
- Registration begins in March. For a full list of important dates, visit the Registrar’s Office Important Dates by Term page.

Current UWM Students
- Catch up on credits or work ahead for the fall and save money by graduating earlier.
- Flexible scheduling and online/in-person options let you learn while also working summer jobs.
- Enrolling is easy – just sign up through your PAWS account.
Non-Degree and Guest Students
- Learn while visiting family or friends during the summer and earn credits that transfer to your university.
- Taking a class or two before fall is perfect for high school grads who can’t wait to start college.
- Applying as a non-degree or guest student is easy through our online process.
