Partnerships at UWM take many forms and often include companies, community organizations, other academic institutions, government agencies and trade associations. We understand the difficulties of navigating a large urban campus and are here to guide you every step of the way. It’s our mission to help you leverage the capabilities of a top-tier research university.

Our Career Planning and Resource Center provides the latest recruitment options on campus, including information sessions, career fairs, interviews and more. You can contact our team to hire a Panther. You can also look for your future leaders by registering with Handshake, our job and internship portal.

Build Your Brand at UWM

The best way to get students interested in working for you is to let them know who you are. We can help you find ways to increase your brand visibility on campus. Options include naming a room or facility, participating in our corporate partner Spotlight Series, supporting a student organization, sponsoring our athletics program, conferences, campus events such as career fairs, or connecting with various career centers.

Innovate with UWM

Collaborate with us by sponsoring a research project, licensing a technology invented at UWM (working with the UWM Research Foundation) or engaging in with innovation programs at the Lubar Entrepreneurship Center.

Strategic Giving Opportunities

UWM’s University Advancement can expertly match partner interests with university priorities that need private philanthropic support, and can help identify opportunities for corporate event sponsorships, naming opportunities and other giving priorities.

Our flagship efforts include: Connected Systems Institute, Northwestern Mutual Data Science Institute, Higher Education Regional Alliance, M-Cubed and the Freshwater Collaborative of Wisconsin.

Do Business With UWM

Looking to make a sale? As a state agency, UWM adheres to procurement guidelines set by the State of Wisconsin. More information for vendors can be found at the UWM Procurement Office. Special rules apply to purchases that are unique and necessary to the research and educational mission of UWM and are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Lend Your Expertise

Our schools and colleges are always looking for executive leaders to contribute to the creation of knowledge in the classroom through guest lectures and project opportunities. Many of our external partners help shape or advise curricula by providing experiential project opportunities, content or subject matter expertise. Other key areas that individuals typically contribute are as mentors in ICorps, speakers in classes, sponsors for design projects, mentors in programs, members of advisory boards. Examples include the Nonprof-IT program in the School of Information Studies. Our office can help connect you with faculty or programs currently seeking support.

Collaborate With Peers and Faculty

Major research partnerships, centers and institutes are central to the research and education mission of UWM. Located at the center of a major metropolitan area with strong ties to major employers, our partnerships provide a multitude of opportunities for research or business collaboration. Our office can direct you to those that suit your interests, or you can peruse some of our offerings in our Lubar School of Business and College of Engineering and Applied Sciences.

Solve Your Business Problem

Support a class project or senior design project, or get consulting from the College of Engineering and Applied Science. Curate a project solution for your business-related problem by engaging the Lubar School of Business Industry Connect program to provide an experiential learning opportunity for students while addressing your organization’s needs.

Improve Our Community

UWM is committed to fulfilling its civic mission and engaging students in the Milwaukee community through volunteerism, service learning and leadership development. Nonprofit agencies, governmental offices and public and private schools can partner with our Center for Student Experience & Talent, Leadership, and Research. Our office can also shape community partnership opportunities for members of our corporate community.

Explore Lifelong Learning

UWM has a long history of educating nontraditional and workplace learners. Our offerings include UWM Online degree programs, professional certificates through the School of Continuing Education and executive leadership development through the Lubar School of Business Executive Education. Customized training to support employer needs is also available from the School of Continuing Education and the Lubar School of Business Executive Education.
