UWM researchers trying to untangle the mystery of the eastern gray tree frog mating rituals found it hard to study in the pond. So they built their own.
They are inventors, innovators and mentors. The work by more than 4,600 UWM graduate students in 104 graduate degree programs drives the academic discovery in labs all across the campus.
Mikayla Walker is one of the student researchers studying fossils deposited along the Lake Michigan lakeshore from some 40,000 years ago, when the area was far different, made up of marshes and bogs.
