POSTPONED Freshwater Colloquium: Development of Water Technologies

Marcia Silva will present “Development of Water Technologies: Awaking the Inventor Within” as part of the School of Freshwater Sciences spring colloquium. The theme of this semester’s colloquium is Trends in Aquaculture: Meeting the Challenge of Feeding a Changing World. 

This presentation is open to the public.

Silva is the associate director of research and development at the Discovery Partners Institute at the University of Illinois System. She is also an adjunct professor at the UWM School of Freshwater Sciences and the former research director at the UWM Water Technology Accelerator. The overarching goal of her research is to address the interrelated problems in a food-energy-water-waste nexus, supporting environmental sustainability, and helping to build smart resilient communities and smart and connected communities.
