As part of our ongoing community outreach, the School of Freshwater Sciences offers tours to the general public and 9-12 school groups. These tours depart from the lobby area at the main entrance to the building at 600 E. Greenfield Avenue. The walking tour is about 90 minutes and focuses on research being conducted by our faculty, scientists, and students.

General Public Tours

Public tours are offered monthly at 12:30 p.m. This tour is intended for individuals and small groups of people. Advanced registration required. Special tour arrangements can be made for groups of 15-60. Requests for group tours must be made at least three weeks in advance and are subject to availability. Note: Participants must be at least 10 years of age.

High School Tours

We offer two types of tours for high school students. A 90-minute tour focused on the science and research of the School of Freshwater Sciences and a 60-minute tour focused on the School and water careers.
