Posoh (“hello”) from Tyler Schaeffer. Tyler is from the Menominee Tribe and is Bear clan. Tyler’s degree program is in the Bachelor's of Science: English Education specifically Early Adolescence through Adolescence. Tyler is an alumni of Indian Community School of Milwaukee. His culture and heritage have been a foundation in his life. Tyler went to Pius XI Catholic High School and later transferred to South Milwaukee, as he graduated from South Milwaukee High School in 2017.   

 

Tyler’s personal mission and inspiration of becoming a teacher is that teachers make a huge difference in student’s lives. Teachers can be ones that help inspire their students to want to not only achieve excellence in the classroom, but outside the classroom. Teachers have made a difference in Tyler’s life and have helped shape him into the person he is today. All Tyler wants to do is make a positive, life-changing impact on his students as a few teachers did for him. Tyler believes that teachers are the ones that help build a better tomorrow, why not lead the change as a Native American teacher.
