Freshman Anna Kaminski was recently selected for the Northeast Partnership for Atmospheric and Related Sciences’ Research Experience for Undergraduates program this summer! She’ll spend the summer in Geneva, NY at Hobart and William Smith Colleges working with Prof. Nick Metz to research atmospheric rivers!
Graduate student Kevin Prince recently received one of two graduate student awards from the 17th Annual AMS Student Conference poster competition, held in early January in Austin, TX! More information on Kevin’s research here.
Profs. Kravtsov and Evans are two of this year’s twenty-one recipients of UWM Research Growth Initiative awards! These awards provide seed funding for early-stage, high-quality research. Prof. Kravtsov’s award will support research into the dynamics of mesoscale air/sea coupling, while Prof. Evans’ award will support research into interactions between tropical cyclones. Finally, Prof. Evans was recently selected as part of the inaugural class for the AMS Early Career Leadership Academy! This academy is intended to develop the leaders of the weather, water, and climate enterprise of today and tomorrow. It culminates with a two-day leadership seminar in Washington, D.C. in late April.
