About Us

Curtain Hall

Our undergraduate and graduate courses have as their common ground the English language, its effective use as a means of written communication, and the literature it has generated over many centuries and in many geographical areas.

We therefore recognize and will continue to respond to the international and cross-cultural importance of the English language, both as a means of communication in world affairs and as the literary voice of diverse peoples. Concurrently, we embrace that digital culture is transforming these traditional commitments, enriching the possibilities for both scholarship and teaching.

We offer programs emphasizing outstanding research scholarship and innovative pedagogy in Literature and Cultural Theory; Rhetoric and Composition; Creative Writing; Professional Writing; and Media, Cinema and Digital Studies.
