UWM Bienvenida: New Latine Student Welcome

The Roberto Hernandez Center (RHC) is committed to supporting Latine students through graduation and will be hosting our 6th annual UWM Bienvenida: New Latine Student Welcome event on Friday, August 16th at 10:30 am with a networking celebration to follow until 5:30 pm.
Students should arrive before start time and plan to stay until at least 4:30 pm. There is a full agenda of activities and this is not a drop-in event. Registration is required.
At this event students will:
- Meet the RHC Staff & other UWM campus partners and resources.
- Learn important information from RHC Success Coaches
- Network and build community with other new incoming Latine students.
- Hear from and connect with current Latine students and other Latine professionals at UWM.
All students who attend will get a ‘Yo Soy UWM’ t-shirt!
We also recommend that students register up to two guests to attend a separate special program during Bienvenida. Guests should be part of the student’s personal success team like parents/guardians, mentors, mature siblings, or anyone who will be a strong support during their time in college.
NOTE: The Bienvenida event is separate from New Student Orientation (NSO) and Transfer & Adult Student Orientation (TASO). Students must also complete NSO/TASO before they can enroll in classes at UWM. Bienvenida is open to any NEW and Re-Entry Latine student who is taking classes in Fall 2024 at the Milwaukee Campus.
