The Fall 2018 Awards Ceremony took place on October 17, honoring those who have shown exemplary service at UWM. Among the twenty-eight people recognized for their contributions to UWM were the department’s own David Kaplan and Philip Chang. Associate Professor Kaplan was awarded one of five Office Of Research/UWM Foundation Research Awards for his ongoing work in astrophysics, and Associate Professor Chang was awarded the Joanne Lazirko Award for Excellence in Teaching with Technology for his online video tutorials that work through physics problems to assist students in grasping essential concepts.
