Analyzing Antibiotic Resistant Bacteria and Determining the Influence Humans are Having on Their Prevalence

This project is multi-faceted and includes working with antibiotic resistant bacteria and determining their level of resistance and mechanism utilized to acquire resistance. Additionally, the project will look to identify if these bacteria release toxins capable of killing human cells. This project involves cell culture work, microbiology, molecular biology techniques and data analysis.

Tasks and Responsibilities

I am looking for 1-2 students that are interested in a longer term project and presenting their research at conferences. I will train all students personally and working with them analyzing data.
Training courses: At least one or two safety courses.

Desired Qualifications

Students should definitely be at least sophomores with some background in biology courses.
