Ezmae is a certified facility-trained dog, a type of service dog specializing in an educational environment. Her training allows her to assist people suffering from depression, being a crime victim or dealing with any type of stressful event.
Fostering Success program helps independent students find their way
UWM’s program, one of the first in Wisconsin, works with students who’ve come out of foster care, are unaccompanied and homeless, under legal guardianship or who are orphaned or wards of the court, giving them the support to help continue their education.
UWM continues Milwaukee Tuition Promise, making college more accessible for students
The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is continuing the Milwaukee Tuition Promise for Fall 2025 incoming UWM students. The program ensures that eligible students can meet the full cost of tuition for up to four years.
UWM announces best fundraising year yet
UWM has announced its highest fundraising year in the history of the university. More than 5,000 donors gave a total of $46.1 million to the UWM Foundation, which supports UWM. The previous record, set in 2018, was $38.6 million.
UWM baseball player chosen in major league draft
Owen Rice, a pitcher, was chosen in the 20th round on Tuesday by the St. Louis Cardinals, becoming the 26th UWM player selected by a Major League organization in program history.
UWM athletes winning in the classroom too
The UWM women’s tennis team won a Horizon League award for having the highest GPA of any team in the conference. Across all of UWM, 105 student athletes posted a GPA of 3.8 or higher this past spring.
Mone announces final year as chancellor and return to teaching after Spring 2025
Chancellor Mark Mone announced today that he is stepping down as chancellor of UWM, effective July 1, 2025, and returning to his professorship with the Lubar College of Business.
