Several UW-Milwaukee alumni and one current administrator made this year’s Milwaukee Business Journal “40 Under 40” list.
The awards, which will be celebrated at an event March 19, honor young business and community leaders from throughout Southeastern Wisconsin.
Marc Young, executive director of undergraduate admissions at UWM, was named to the list, as were six UWM graduates:
- Nick Fallucca (’09 BBA Marketing), Palermo Villa
- Emily Di Nardo (’10 BBA Accounting, Finance, Business), Baker Tilly
- Katherine Kawczynski (’07 BS Architectural Studies), VJS Construction Services
- Kweku TeAngelo Cargile Jr. (’15 BS Education), Employment Resources Inc.
- Monique Liston (’18 PhD Urban Education), UBUNTU Research and Evaluation
- Lawanda Chambers (’15 BA Psychology), LIFE Wellness and Counseling Services
In addition, three people with UWM connections who were chosen as past 40 Under 40 awardees are being inducted into the 40 Under 40 Hall of Fame for their continued accomplishments. They are:
- Jim Paetsch, recently retired from Milwaukee 7, an organization he helped found, is a 1994 graduate of UWM’s Master of Public Administration program.
- Kathryn Berger, interim president and CEO of the Wisconsin Economic Development Association, earned an Education Teaching Certificate from UWM in 2012.
- Kimberly Kane, of Kane Communications Group, is a board member of the UWM Foundation.
