Three new UWM distinguished professors named
Patrick Brady, Martha Carlin and Sandra McLellan have been named UWM distinguished professors by current faculty holding that title. The current active number in this prestigious group is now 26.

We Energies Foundation gives $2 million to help UWM students graduate
Three-quarters of the gift will be used to endow programs that enhance student success, such as emergency and retention grants, coaching, staffing and tools for advising. The remaining portion will provide support for scholarships.

Sam Zimmerman-Zhaawanoogiizhik, who draws on his Ojibwe heritage in his work, created the murals as part on an effort to “Indigenize” the new home of the Electa Quinney Institute and the American Indian Student Center.

Several programs at UWM appear in the latest rankings of best graduate programs by U.S. News & World Report. Two – library and information studies and occupational therapy – landed in the top 20.
More than $1 million raised during 414 for UWM Giving Day
More than 1,700 alumni, faculty, staff, students, families and friends made gifts, a 43% increase over last year’s participation. This was the first 414 for UWM Giving Day to raise more than $1 million.
