UWM programs score high in U.S. News & World Report rankings

The undergraduate nursing program at UW-Milwaukee is among the top 10% of universities nationwide in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings.

Two other UWM programs – the undergraduate business and computer science programs – are among the top 25% nationally in the 2024 rankings. UWM’s undergraduate psychology program ranks in the top third.

Overall, UWM held steady, landing this year at No. 332 among national universities.

U.S. News considers a host of factors in compiling its rankings each year. Weighted most heavily are graduation and retention rates, undergraduate academic reputation and resources provided to faculty. Overall, more than 50% of the ranking is determined by factors relating to social mobility, graduation and retention rates, graduate indebtedness, graduate earnings compared with earnings of high school graduates, and graduation rate performance, U.S. News said.

Only accredited institutions with four-year bachelor’s degree-granting campus-based programs are surveyed and listed in the rankings.
