Residency Policy Exemption

To request an exemption from the First-Year (Freshmen) Residency Requirement, student’s must log into their Housing Portal and complete the form from the link in the top menu.

  • The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is exempt from paying property taxes, therefore, housing fees paid by the residents of University Housing managed facilities do not qualify for either the Homestead Credit or Renter’s and Homeowner’s Property Tax Credits. For more information, please see the Wisconsin Department of Revenue website or contact your tax advisor if you have additional questions. Students who want to pull their own record of their accounts for housing related expenses are able to pull that data from PAWS.

Moving In/Out

• Move-In Appointment Adjustment (Residence Hall Only)
