Contracting Closes at 11:59pm Friday, May 1st.
As of 11:59pm on Friday, May 1, 2026, University Housing will stop accepting Residence Hall Contracts for the 2026-2027 Academic Year. If you do not have a submitted contract or a submitted exemption by this time, you will be given an automatic exemption from the UWM Residency Requirement and may pursue other housing options through the Off-Campus Resource Center. We do acknowledge that we will have cancellations over the next coming months and encourage you to place yourself on our residence hall wait list through the Housing Portal if you still wish to live with us in University Housing. We will offer contracts based on the wait list as spaces become available.

University Housing Policies are essential guidelines designed to ensure a safe, respectful, and harmonious living environment for all residents. These policies and resident expectations cover a range of topics, including noise levels, guest regulations, cleanliness standards, and safety protocols. Adherence to these expectations and policies helps maintain a positive community atmosphere and protects the rights and well-being of all students. On this page, you will find a comprehensive list of the specific policies and procedures that all residents are expected to follow. Familiarizing yourself with these guidelines will help you navigate university housing successfully and contribute to a supportive living community.

In addition to the terms of the University Housing and Kenilworth Square Apartments contracts, each contract holder is required to read and comply with the University Housing Resident Handbook. Within this publication is a complete set of policies to ensure a safe living and learning environment for each individual in our community and supports our mission to provide safe and well-maintained facilities. Residents must comply with these policies as well as with those of the University, UWS 18 Conduct on University Lands, and with the laws of the State of Wisconsin and the U.S.; which have been incorporated into these policies where applicable. Changes and revisions to these policies may be made by the Chancellor and are effective upon publication.
