Global Studies major Lauren Sroka receives Boren Scholarship

Congratulations to UWM Global Studies major and Japanese minor Lauren Sroka, who has been awarded a prestigious Boren Schlarship! The Boren Awards invest in linguistic and cultural knowledge for aspiring federal government employees, which is a perfect fit for Lauren, a Global Sustainability major who hopes to work for the U.S. Department of Energy after graduation to work on climate change policies to reduce fossil fuel use. Lauren will spend the 2024-2025 academic year in Tokyo, at UWM’s exchange program with Hosei University. This is a tremendous achievement, and we are so proud of you, Lauren!
