Internships are valuable opportunities for students to develop new skills, gain new experiences, and learn about possible careers in a professional setting while still in school.
UWM is in the process of implementing a requirement for experiential learning, including internships, for all undergraduate degrees. Global Studies majors already incorporate an international internship and/or a domestic internship with an international component. French, and Italian, and Comparative Literature majors may have the opportunity to complete an internship as well, working internationally or with a local or regional company or organization that has an international focus.
Explore some of the organizations that we have developed relationships with, learn about other students’ past experiences with internships, and begin to explore the process of finding your own internship. And if you have a connection or a recommendation for an internship location that we might be able to recommend to our students, please let us know!
