Environmental Reporter Susan Bence talked with incoming Dean Rebecca Klaper about her new role (as of July 1), her vision for the School of Freshwater Sciences, the new undergraduate program and how the School’s alumni are making a difference for Milwaukee, the Great Lakes and beyond.
“One of the reasons our school is so unique is that … we recognize that any decisions made about water are not just based on the science. There’s a whole human aspect to any way that water gets protected,” she says. “Our students have their own water story … when they go back out they are trying to address some of the concerns from where they came from.”
