Freshwater Colloquium: Development of Water Technologies: ​Awaking the Inventor Within

Dr. Marcia Silva will present “Development of Water Technologies: ​Awaking the Inventor Within” as part of the School of Freshwater Sciences fall colloquium. 

 

Dr. Silva is the Associate Director of Research & Development at the Discovery Partners Institute at the University of Illinois System. She is also an adjunct professor at the UWM School of Freshwater Sciences and the former research director at the UWM Water Technology Accelerator. The overarching goal of her research is to address the interrelated problems in a food-energy-water-waste nexus, supporting environmental sustainability, and helping to build smart resilient communities and smart and connected communities.

 

This presentation is open to students, faculty, staff, alumni and the public.

The Colloquium series creates a platform where students, faculty, and scientists discuss emergent issues related to freshwater science research. Invited speakers present specific topics of their research, as well as policy, commercial, and industrial experiences.
