UWM Learning TECHniques:

FREE two-hour computer skills classes on campus with topics including Office 365, One-drive, and SharePoint

UWM Knowledge Base:

FREE digital catalog of articles with categories such as General UWM Knowledge, Security, and Office 365.

UWM Safety & Assurances – Occupational Safety Training:

FREE online courses with quizzes on topics including hazardous waste, spill prevention control, laboratory cleanout, and bloodborne pathogens.

UWM Police Department-hosted events:

Calendar of FREE events involving topics like active shooter, self defense, and AED/CPR.

APPA Webinars:

FREE 1-hour webinar courses. There are 1-2 offerings per month, with a variety of topics including grounds, maintenance, & custodial guidelines, electrical safety, and emergency eye wash station requirements.

Skill Path Training Seminars:

Offers continuing education credits in categories including customer service, human resources, management, Microsoft Office, and personal development. Courses vary in length and are available onsite or online.

Paul Davis Restoration:

Offers training & certifications in “property damage emergency services, restoration and reconstruction”. Courses are available at regional and local facilities, as well as online.

UWM University Recreation – Safety Training & Certification:

On-campus Instructional courses and programs for individuals or groups in need of emergency response training/certification including CPR/AED and First Aid.

Scholarships & Internships

DEED Funding for Students:

Scholarships, internships, grants, and project support for “students working toward lineworker and other technical careers that are in high demand by electric utilities. A DEED member utility must sponsor your scholarship application.”

MAPPA/APPA Development Opportunities:

Scholarships for employees of MAPPA member institutions. Their goal is to support the “professional development of personnel in the field of facilities operations, maintenance, design and construction”.

APPA Ambassador Scholarship Program:

Funds registration and partial travel expenses for the annual APPA conference.
