UWM Music Studios, Ensembles Low Strings, Orchestra

Cello, Double Bass & Harp Studios

The Mission of the cello, double bass, and harp studios is to nurture the talent, creativity, and dedication of our performance, pedagogy, and chamber music students. Students are prepared for modern, multifaceted professional careers as performers and/or teachers of chamber ensemble, orchestral, and solo repertory. The program offers a thorough grounding in instrumental technique and repertory, and broad and continuous experience in performance.

Bass students will be presented with a series of technical studies designed to solidify and expand upon the fundamental skills needed to succeed in the world of music. Appropriate solo material will be assigned to enhance these skills and to allow the student to express their artistic abilities through the Double Bass. Students will also receive instruction targeting their mastery of the music they will encounter in their large ensembles.
