Our studios are led by artist faculty, including members of the Milwaukee and Chicago symphony orchestras. Located within the cultural capital of Wisconsin, students regularly perform as soloists, chamber musicians and with professional Milwaukee-area ensembles while earning their degree!

Studios offer a thorough grounding in instrumental technique and repertory and broad and continuous experience in performance to prepare students for modern, multifaceted careers.
UWM Music Studios Clarinet
Led by Todd Levy, principal clarinet of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, students regularly perform as soloists, chamber musicians, and with professional Milwaukee-area ensembles while earning their degree.
UWM Music Studios Composition
Our composition studio fosters development in instrumental, vocal and electroacoustic composition with an emphasis on contemporary and experimental techniques.
UWM Music Studios Flute
The flute studio, which is comprised of undergraduate music majors and minors, music education majors and non-majors, supports the community and presents opportunities for students of all degree levels and abilities.

Led by world-renowned artist faculty, we offer classical and jazz focused programs where students are able to customize a unique comprehensive experience designed to prepare students for a versatile career in music.
UWM Music Studios Oboe and Bassoon
The oboe and bossoon studios explore and progress in every aspect of double reed study, including technical mastery of the instrument, fundamental musicianship, repertoire and reed making.
UWM PSOA World Percussion 2023
The percussion studio provides a comprehensive approach to the study and performance of a wide variety of instruments and the styles. Diverse opportunities in ensembles and private lessons provide a well-rounded foundation.
UWM Music Studios Piano
The piano studio is led by renowned performing artist faculty. Piano majors take private lessons and master classes, and perform regularly in concerts and recitals. Our collaborative environment with an emphasis on vocal arts is one of few such undergraduate programs offered nationwide.
UWM Music Studios Saxophone
The saxophone studio consists of undergraduate and graduate music majors, minors, and non-majors. We aim to promote the popularity of the saxophone through innovative, diverse, and versatile programming and performing.
UWM Music Studios Trombone Tuba Euphonium
The trombone and tuba/euphonium studios are led by Mark Hoelscher and Andy Smith. Located within the cultural capital of Wisconsin, students regularly perform as soloists, chamber musicians and with professional ensembles.
UWM Music Studios Trumpet and Horn
Faculty members of the trumpet and horn studios are accomplished musician-educators of the highest level. Students receive one-on-one instruction and combine their studies with practical experience both on and off campus.
UWM Music Viola Studios and Orchestras Ensembles
The viola studio prepares students to succeed in a variety of music careers: soloist, orchestra and chamber musician, and string educator. This includes access to tracks in performance, chamber music, music education and string pedagogy.

The violin studio prepares students to succeed in a variety of music careers: soloist, orchestra and chamber musician, and string educator. This includes access to tracks in performance, chamber music, music education and string pedagogy.
UWM Music Studios Voice
Our competitive voice studios are led by renowned performing artist faculty who perform regularly across the region. Students perform in opera productions, opera workshop performances, musicals, recitals and concerts on and off campus.
