    Sing Out! Tenor-Bass Festival

    Zelazo Center for the Performing Arts, Bader Hall 2419 E. Kenwood Blvd., Milwaukee, WI

    Sing Out brings together 750+ 9th-12th grade and 350+ 7th-8th grade tenor-bass singers from over 60 schools from around Wisconsin and Illinois. No advance preparation is required; students learn pieces at the festival and conclude the morning with the high school and middle school choirs singing for one another and together. Additional activities include performances by the UWM Tenor-Bass Choir and interest and reading sessions for directors.

    UW-Milwaukee alumni, stone sculptor/painter SHADDSTONE©️ collaborates with alumni master percussionist Martin Shadd and friends, to present an experience of abstract/impressionism as music. The musical journey will be performed on unique and traditional instruments to create a series of “sound-escapes."

    The High School Honors Band Festival provides the region’s most motivated and accomplished high school wind, brass, and percussion students an opportunity to work with each other and with regionally and nationally recognized conductors.     The UWM Middle School Honors Band Festival is one of the longest-standing events of its kind. Our festival provides the region’s most motivated and accomplished middle school instrumentalists with an opportunity to work with one another and with regionally and nationally recognized wind band conductors. In addition, students interact with UWM performance staff and experience performances by UWM ensembles.
