There are two upcoming educational opportunities to get more familiar with the High Performance Computing (HPC) resources at UWM. The two workshops will be virtual lectures with opportunities for hands-on practice for participants: 

• Intro to Bash: Tuesday, June 15, 2021, 2-4pm 
• Intro to UWM HPC Resources: Thursday, June 17, 2021, 2-4pm 

About the Workshops
Nearly all modern supercomputers run some variation of a Linux operating system, a much different experience than a typical desktop computer running Windows. Researchers looking to leverage high performance computing resources either local to UW-Milwaukee or external (e.g. XSEDE) will need to be able to work in these potentially unfamiliar environments. 

If you are interested in these topics and unfamiliar with a Unix command-line environment, it is recommended that you attend both workshops to get the full experience. Please register here: uwm.edu/hpc/courses/. If you cannot attend these workshops but are interested in future events, please fill out the Interested in Future Workshops form to receive updates.
