UWM is upgrading all university-owned Macs to meet new technical standards.

These changes will simplify processes for Mac users to update and install new software, operating system updates, and other regular updates without needing to contact IT staff.

Currently, 32% of university-owned Mac devices are running unsupported operating systems. In an effort to secure devices and streamline device/user support for Macs, UWM will be standardizing the login process, operating systems (OS), and self-service resources for all university-owned Macs.

Conveniently, users can apply the updates themselves on recently configured Macs with the steps below. Some users will need assistance from IT staff to upgrade their Mac.
