Joshua Gwon

Seok Hyun (Joshua) Gwon, PhD, RN

  • Assistant Professor

Dr. Gwon’s long-term goal of research is to help young adult Electronic Nicotine Delivery Systems (ENDS) users reduce nicotine dependence and ENDS use. He is particularly interested in cognitive approaches to modify and quit ENDS use in young adults. He has developed an innovative mobile-based attentional bias modification training program with his collaborator to improve their addiction-related outcomes (cotinine, physiological reactivity, nicotine dependence, and urges) and found the treatment effect signal through a series of the pilot studies. He is now conducting a placebo-controlled two-arm randomized trial with young adult who are using ENDS products. Dr. Gwon is also interested in social media-based interventions to improve abstinence-related outcomes in young adult ENDS users. He places a high value on collaborative and interdisciplinary approaches. For more information, please visit www.joshuagwon.com.
