UWM marketing efforts win awards

Four UW-Milwaukee marketing efforts have been honored by a group that supports educational institutions of higher learning.

UWM received the recognition from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education District V, which spans a six-state area in the upper Midwest.

The College of Nursing’s 50th anniversary events received the gold award for excellence in special events, series of events. For its anniversary, Nursing hosted a distinguished lecture, an event for community partners, an award ceremony for distinguished alumni and an anniversary gala.

UW-Milwaukee’s “Made in Milwaukee, Shaping the World: The Campaign for UWM” effort received the gold award for best program in case statements/cultivation publications. The case statement tells potential donors about what’s happening at the university and lists opportunities to support student success, research and community engagement.

The “‘CAN’T STOP THE FEELING!’ – UW-Milwaukee Graduation Edition” video received the silver award for online innovation: communications/marketing. The video, tied to the May 2016 graduation, featured students lip-syncing and dancing to Justin Timberlake’s hit song. It has garnered more than 270,000 views on YouTube.

The Peck School of the Arts case statement received the bronze award for best program in case statements/cultivation publications. The effort promotes the Peck School as Wisconsin’s only comprehensive arts school and as a cultural resource for students and the community.
