UWM is one of four universities in Wisconsin ranked among the top educational institutions in the world, according to a new ranking by U.S. News & World Report.
UWM is joined on the 2022 Best Global Universities list by UW-Madison, the Medical College of Wisconsin and Marquette University.
The ranking included more than 1,700 universities in more than 90 countries on academic research and reputation. Among the factors included in the rankings are global and regional research reputation, research paper citations and publications.
“These rankings stand out from our other education rankings due to their emphasis on academic research,” Robert Morse, chief data strategist at U.S. News, said in a news release.
UWM was ranked No. 531, following by the Medical College at No. 607 and Marquette at No. 1,207. UW-Madison was ranked No. 52.
UWM was also ranked among the top universities in several subject areas, the highest of which was No. 135 in space science.
