The LGBTQ+ Resource Center provides many services to LGBTQIA+ students here at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Events
We host biweekly events and four annual events that promote belonging, community, and education for LGBTQIA+ students and their allies.
One-on-One Meetings with LGBTQ+ RC Professional Staff
We have two full-time professional staff dedicated to supporting LGBTQIA+ students and their allies. We can support students in the following ways and more:
- Resource referral – looking for an on-campus service or local resource? We can help connect you to them.
- Check-ins – we are here to listen to your concerns around LGBTQIA+ identities or topics, whether for yourself or if you want to be a better ally to a friend.
- Student advocacy – if you are facing hardship on campus, we can support you through it, including policy advocacy and hate/bias reporting support.
- And more! – you can set up a meeting with us through our contact page or stopping by the center in person
Workshops & Trainings
We offer educational workshops and training seminars for classes, campus departments, and student organizations about LGBTQIA+ lives and topics.
Lending Library
Our Lending Library has a wide array of books written for and about LGBTQIA+ people and topics that students can check-out and enjoy for leisure or find a book for a class assignment.
