LGBTQ+ RC 20th Anniversary
February 24 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Twenty years have passed since the Student Association of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee created the original LGBT Resource Center in 2002. This month, with the Student Union renovations, we will be saying goodbye to the old office space that the Center has called home for two decades and will be moving to a brand-new space (Union EG-35) on the other side of the Union – in the hallway for the Centers for Advocacy and Student Engagement (CASE).
On February 24th, 2023, from 6-8pm, we will celebrate this wonderful history and bring alumni and current students together to reflect on the significance of past activism as well as the currents needs and challenges facing the community. What did/does the Center mean to you? How has it changed? What can it be in the future?
We will have a joint panel of alumni and current students to discuss these questions, in addition to an exhibit from the University Archives documenting the history of the Center, catering, and interactive games to bring the community together.
Please fill out the RSVP form if you are attending. We hope to see you there!
(note: some sections of the form are geared toward alumni. If it does not apply to you, you should be able to leave it blank or type n/a)
