Requirements are established by the Faculty of the College of Letters and Science to represent the core components of an L&S degree. Your major is just a part of these requirements, and, in fact, only makes up about 30% to 40% of the credits needed for the degree.
Regardless of the major you choose, all L&S students must complete these general requirements as part of the 120 credits it takes to earn a degree. L&S requirements have changed over time, and your starting date at any college or university determines which requirements you are eligible to follow: you may select any set of requirements established since your first college class; you may not select requirements that pre-date your college enrollment.
If your first college course in a degree program at any university was prior to Fall 2006
Students who began taking undergraduate courses anywhere prior to Fall 2006 should contact an advisor to discuss degree requirements.
